New Music Monday: September 2014 Playlist

September was a month of hotly anticipated releases. Interpol, Banks, SBTRKT, and alt-J each dropped an album. Interpol's El Pintor is spectacular from start to finish, with the band's dark yet stylish punk-rock sound firmly rooted in place.

Three standout songs aside, the alt-J album proved to be a bit of a dreary disappointment. It's lacking in that original, enticing sound from their debut album. Fortunately, there was no shortage of great, new music to quickly move beyond that letdown!

1) Doves (Vince Clarke remix)- Future Islands

2) Same Town, New Story- Interpol

3) Higher- SBTRKT, Raury

4) Fall Over- Banks

5) Lonely Press Play- Damon Albarn

6) I'm Callin'- Tennis

7) Rainy Taxi- Spoon

8) Bloodflood pt. II- alt-J

9) 99- Hollie Cook

10) Left Hand Free- alt-J

11) Dreams- Wet

12) Grizzly Bear- Angus & Julia Stone

13) A Heartbreak- Angus & Julia Stone

14) Nothing Matters- Christian Gregory
